Today class was hilarious. In our first section, Susana played some music for us and listened for comprehension and then analysed the song lyrics for verb conjugations.
In the second portion, we started out talking about differences in customs between our countries, and ended up talking about the night life and Ruben, our amazingly fabulous professor, gave us some very useful tips. He told us where different types of discotecas were, but more importantly gave us some tips on how not to attract creepers. He told us that no matter what we were going to get hit on because since we're all clearly foreign, we're considered exotic, and therefore in hot demand. He also told us that it would be a great idea if we all got Spanish boyfriends because it would be like having free lessons every day all the time. (Katy, Mikaela and I are still working on it.. Until I find my conquistador, I'll settle for my Spanish sister to be my "friendly tutor".) He also explained about how Spanish people are more "friendly" in the sense that they will grab your arm while you're talking to each other. Therefore he demonstrated what was "okay" touching (elbow to shoulder) and what was not okay (EVERYTHING else.. especially the hip area). After class, Katy and I went to the pool with Sina and Antonia, the girls from Germany. Sina had a pass, so it only cost 3 euros for us to get in for the entire afternoon. We all brought lunches so we had a wonderful little picnic in the grass and then laid out from about 1 pm until 7 pm. It was FABULOUS! :) However, it was a little odd to see so many speedos, topless women, and people just smoking weed out in the open (yes, marijuana is illegal here too).
After the pool, we decided to just have a chill night. So we all ate dinner with our families and went to bed fairly early.
